In r/gamedev, newer solo developers are comparing their personal toolchains across Unity, Blender, pixel art apps, music tools, and note-taking, using the thread to fill gaps like SFX creation and workflow organization.
Hello! Young dev here, I'm relatively new to making games. I'm a solo dev and I'm learning how to make both 2D and 3D games on Unity, I use blender for 3D models and animations, I use Aseprite for 2D pixel arts and Krita for Hand-drawn sprites.
I use FL studios for musics but I don't know where to make SFXs
i use resprite for pixel art, krita for all other 2D art, blender for 3D stuff, and logic pro for music/audio (i’m mainly a composer but i’ve been getting into solo dev lately).
I also document everything in Obsidian and sync across my computer and mobile devices in case I get a flash if inspiration while i’m out and about
