About Amygdala

The Human Authority Index of the Internet

Amygdala is an API and web platform that returns authority-ranked human experts for any topic. It is used in RAG pipelines, AI agent workflows, journalism, recruiting, and investment research.

What Amygdala is

Amygdala builds and maintains a continuously updated index of human authority across tens of thousands of topics. Given a query, it returns ranked lists of verified real people with authority scores, verified social profiles, areas of expertise, and structured biographical data.

The core output is structured JSON: deterministic, indexed data about real humans, not AI-generated prose or web page summaries. This makes it directly usable in RAG pipelines, agent tool calls, and data enrichment workflows where accuracy and verifiability matter.

What problems it solves

Finding genuine experts

Most expert discovery relies on follower counts, Google results, or editorial lists. These are proxies, not measures of actual domain knowledge. Amygdala scores authority directly from cross-platform signals: who peers recognise, how consistently someone contributes to a topic, and how their presence compounds over time.

Verifying claimed credentials

Anyone can claim expertise. Amygdala Verify lets journalists, recruiters, and investors look up any person by name or social handle and get an objective score with evidence: platforms, topics, peer connections, and authority history. No self-reporting required.

Grounding AI in real human expertise

LLMs hallucinate when asked "who are the top experts on X?" because they have no live, structured source to draw from. Amygdala gives AI systems a deterministic, up-to-date index of real authorities to retrieve from, reducing fabrication and improving citation quality in RAG pipelines.

Who uses it

Developers and AI engineers
Integrate authority-ranked expert context into RAG pipelines, AI agent tool calls, and LLM grounding layers via REST API or MCP server.
Journalists
Verify source credibility before publication. Find the most authoritative voices on a story topic without manual research.
Recruiters and talent teams
Assess genuine domain expertise beyond CV claims. Identify authorities in niche technical fields.
Investors and analysts
Evaluate founder and team credibility. Map the authority landscape of an emerging field before making decisions.
PR and communications teams
Identify the real opinion leaders in a niche. Prioritise outreach based on authority, not follower counts.
