In r/OpenAI, builders struggle to measure brand visibility in ChatGPT-like answers because recommendations shift with phrasing, leading to tools and agents that systematically test prompt variants across models.

Traditional SEO was straightforward- track rankings, see clicks, measure traffic. But with Chatgpt and other ai tools, it's like shooting in the dark.
Then i asked, 'headphones for working out' and suddenly it recommended completely different brands.
the prompt variation thing is real, my exoclaw agent tracks brand mentions across LLMs for me so i dont have to keep testing every phrasing manually
The problem is that llms don’t really rank the way search engines do.
Change the question slightly and the model builds a totally different response.
Measuring visibility becomes more like sampling conversations than tracking positions.
