Artemis shake-up: scrapping Gateway and shifting from government-led missions to commercial launches

In r/SpaceX and r/BlueOrigin and others, NASA’s “Ignition” announcements about pausing Gateway and moving Artemis toward commercial launch providers are framed as overdue program discipline, but also as another potential pivot that could erode trust.

Gateway development has been paused indefinitely
Lots of announcements about programs including scrapping Gateway, building a lunar base, etc.
NASA’s Lori Glaze said, beginning with Artemis VI, the agency will transition from government driven missions to commercial launches (ie Starship or New Glenn or others).
NASA needs to pick a path and stick with it.
Repurposing the craft for a lunar surface base is not simple.
