Perps profitability framed as risk-reward math, not win rate

March 25, 2026r/CryptoMarkets

In r/CryptoMarkets, perp traders emphasize that a ~4055% win rate can still be profitable if average winners are meaningfully larger than losers, shifting focus from accuracy to position sizing and exits.

net down about 12%. my stats show i have a 48% win rate but my losses are bigger than wins.
A 48% win rate is fine if your risk-reward ratio compensates for it.
Most profitable perp traders I know (myself included for the periods I was profitable) sit somewhere between 40-55% win rate.
If your average winner is 2x your average loser, a 40% win rate is still positive expectancy.
If your average loser is larger than your winner, you need north of 60%
